Blotter continuously captures audio from six different LAPD and LASD radio scanners. It uses Whisper on a GPU to transcribe the feeds, identifies locations and police codes, and then places each incident on a map. This entire process, from initial dispatch to appearing as a map pin, takes approximately five minutes. Users can tap any map dot to review the transcript and listen to the original audio recording. The service supports searching by keyword, specific time periods, or police codes. It provides coverage for all of Los Angeles County, is completely free, and requires no account.
