Information We Collect
When you create an account on PostYourStartup.co, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name, avatar, and social media links. When you submit a startup, we collect the startup name, URL, description, logo, and category you provide.
We also collect anonymous usage data such as page views, votes, and interactions to improve the service. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to track anonymous upvotes.
How We Use Your Information
- To display your startup listing publicly on PostYourStartup.co
- To send you transactional emails (verification codes, listing status updates, badge reminders)
- To process payments through Stripe for paid listing options
- To improve and maintain the service
Third Party Services
We use the following third party services:
- Stripe for payment processing. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
- Amazon SES for sending transactional emails.
- PostHog for anonymous product analytics.
- Google OAuth / GitHub OAuth for optional social sign-in.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the EU (Hetzner). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in) and for tracking anonymous upvotes. We do not use third party advertising cookies.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@postyourstartup.co. You can update your profile information from your dashboard at any time.
Terms of Service
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using PostYourStartup.co, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and submitting a startup. One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts.
Startup Listings
By submitting a startup, you represent that you have the right to list it and that the information you provide is accurate. We reserve the right to remove or decline any listing at our sole discretion, including listings that are misleading, inappropriate, or violate these terms.
Payments & Refunds
Paid listings are charged as a one-time fee processed through Stripe. Payments are non-refundable once your startup listing has been published. If we are unable to publish your listing for any reason, you may request a full refund by contacting support@postyourstartup.co.
Badges
Free listings require installing a PostYourStartup badge on your website. The badge must remain on your site for as long as your listing is active. Removing the badge may result in your listing being deactivated.
Prohibited Conduct
- Submitting fraudulent, misleading, or spam listings
- Manipulating votes or reviews through fake accounts or automated means
- Harassing other users through comments or reviews
- Attempting to exploit or disrupt the service
Limitation of Liability
PostYourStartup.co is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
