Fossel is a local MCP memory server designed for open source contributors. It provides AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Desktop with persistent, repository aware memory by storing conventions, bug fixes, reviewer patterns, and decisions in a local SQLite database. Its included tools are update_memory, pin_memory, unpin_memory, and summarize_repo_context. The service requires no cloud connection and no user account. Simply execute npx -y fossel init to be operational in thirty seconds.
