fx is a compact, open-source coding agent from Vercel designed to stay unobtrusive. Developed in Zig and delivered as a native binary of about 6MB, it launches nearly instantly with minimal memory and context usage. You can operate it with local or cloud models, enhance it through skills, plugins, and MCPs, or integrate it into your own agent systems. Its intentionally small footprint allows the model more space to function.
