Murmur is a simple voice keyboard for macOS. Press and hold the Function key to speak, then release to have your words appear at the cursor's location. For enhanced results, hold Function and Control together; this uses your speech and any highlighted text as context to generate refined AI output. All basic transcription is processed locally on your device to ensure privacy, while the AI feature only transmits text, never audio. You supply your own API key, eliminating the need for a separate fixed subscription fee for dictation services.
