Images and videos often exceed necessary sizes. They consume excessive storage and bandwidth, which reduces performance. We experimented with various standard tools, settings, and file formats. The results were inconsistent. We simply needed a reliable solution. That is why we created Optimo: a command line tool that reliably reduces media file sizes. It is powered by ImageMagick and FFmpeg. The tool is both free and open source.
