Ownvox enables voice input for any application on Mac and Windows computers. Simply use a keyboard shortcut, speak your words, and the text is inserted directly where your cursor is placed, whether in ChatGPT, Mail, Slack, a code editor, or any other program. This eliminates the need to switch windows or manually copy and paste. The service combines three functions: standard dictation, voice commands for AI, and AI Skills that can reformat or rewrite any highlighted text immediately. All speech transcription is processed locally on your device using Parakeet or Whisper technology, ensuring your voice data never leaves your computer. You can choose between offline operation or a cloud option based in the EU. The platform is built with privacy as a core principle and fully complies with GDPR regulations.
