Debugging multi-agent AI systems is challenging. Although LangGraph provides a span tree, identifying the source of an error still requires manually tracing steps backward to locate the agent that triggered the cascade. Rifft automates this tracing process. It identifies the initial handoff where the state became incorrect, categorizes the type of failure such as tool loops, handoff mismatches, or context overflow, and displays the causal sequence. Integrating Rifft into any LangGraph project requires just two lines of code.
