Shoehorn is a one person Intelligent Developer Platform that serves as an alternative to Backstage when a dedicated platform team is unavailable. It automatically identifies your services through Kubernetes using its k8s agent, as well as from GitHub and your identity provider. YAML manifests remain fully compatible. The platform ensures tenant isolation by default with Postgres row level security. Its Forge scaffolding engine creates new services from reusable templates. Everything is searchable with rapid fuzzy search. You can manage the platform through a user interface, a command line tool, or Terraform, all powered by the same underlying API. This is the developer platform designed for the majority of teams.
