SmartPause intelligently identifies which application is actively playing sound and pauses it directly. This solves the problem of macOS directing media keys to the last used app, which can cause conflicts between players like YouTube and Apple Music. For two apps running at once, a single key press switches the active target, while a double press handles play or pause. It is free, open source, and runs solely from your menu bar.
