Recording and editing multi-camera demonstrations is often cumbersome, and most polished solutions require payment. Threelane offers an open-source option: it combines your screen, webcam, and a smartphone as a secondary camera via WiFi. Its multi-track editor features zoom lanes that track your cursor and trim lanes to remove unwanted sections. It supports portrait, landscape, and square layouts and exports to MP4. The application runs locally on your computer, requires no cloud services or user account, and is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux. It is completely free and will remain so.
