About

VaultChat is a peer-to-peer encrypted messaging application utilizing the Nostr protocol. It operates without requiring a phone number, email address, or account registration, distinguishing it from platforms like Signal or WhatsApp. User identities are established through a cryptographic keypair generated directly on their own device. Core functionalities include NIP-44 v2 end-to-end encryption, QR code contact sharing, encrypted file transfer, encrypted backup and restore options, a PIN and biometric lock, multi-relay support, and complete open source transparency. The system has no central server, collects no metadata, and performs no tracking.
