Yomi is a small cat that receives meals as children read stories out loud. Speech technology follows along, allowing kids to tap difficult words to hear pronunciations, and an easy creator tool lets them design original stories to read aloud. Genuine stories are offered in three difficulty levels, so children can choose what suits them each day. The app contains no streaks, advertisements, user accounts, or data gathering. No child will ever lose a lengthy reading streak at night. Yomi does not instruct children in reading; instead it provides motivation to practice. For ages 5 to 9, available in English and Finnish on iOS.
