From the founder
Samie SyedWho is AllowanceGo for?
AllowanceGo is designed for parents with children who want to introduce healthy money habits and responsibility from an early age. It's particularly useful for families looking for a fun, interactive way to manage pocket money, encourage children to complete everyday chores and teach them the value of saving towards goals.
What problem does AllowanceGo solve?
Teaching children about money and responsibility isn't always easy. Traditional chore charts and pocket money systems can feel repetitive and struggle to keep children engaged. I created AllowanceGo to make the experience more enjoyable by turning everyday responsibilities into a game. Children complete missions, earn stars and unlock rewards while developing practical life skills.
How is AllowanceGo different from the alternatives?
Unlike traditional pocket money apps such as GoHenry and NatWest Rooster Money, AllowanceGo focuses on gamification rather than banking. Children complete missions, earn stars, customise avatars and work towards savings goals. Family Sync connects parents and children across different Apple devices, even with separate Apple accounts. Privacy is central to the experience, with no child accounts, advertising or bank connections required.
How much does AllowanceGo cost?
AllowanceGo is free to download, with basic features available at no cost. Families who want access to additional features can upgrade to Family Plus for £3.99 per month . The aim is to make it easy for parents to get started without a large upfront commitment.
What's next for AllowanceGo?
My immediate focus is growing AllowanceGo, gathering feedback from real families and continuing to improve the experience. The app is currently available in the UK, Taiwan and Hong Kong, with plans to expand into more regions. I'm also looking at ways to make the missions, rewards and family experience even more engaging for children and parents.
